Moved in, got my first dog, ran a 10k road race, hired a personal running coach on a one year contract, and decided to run the 50km Scorched Sole ultra trail race.
Would you like to hear about my new baby? Of course you would.

Her name is Belle and she is a 9 month old German Shepherd/Husky/Rottweiler. Her birthday is July 15th 2010 and she is my new best friend and running partner (sorry Ryan). We found her through one of Ryan's mother's co-workers, she was stuck in the middle of a divorce involving children and property and pets, and unfortunately her old owner had to make the decision to give her a better life. Lucky for us, 12 acres seems to suit her just fine and she spends the majority of her time out of doors with us in the yard or on runs with me.

Okay, and maybe sometimes we spend our mornings like this...

Despite having a great new running buddy to protect me from the bears and cougars in our area, I have been in serious need of a butt kicking to get me back into my training. Enter the personal running coach. Yes my friends, I've hired a running coach on a one year contract through LifeSport Coaching. I'm pretty excited to start working with Mark Overton, who has already forced me to make some goals for this season; like a 3:15 marathon PB! Eeps!

Unfortunately, I am so bad at keeping you all filled in, but I suppose this is going to be life as we know it now that we are rural-folk. We had the Shaw internet man come to our house and make an assessment... $20,000 to have the internet cable laid down. Oh, but it's okay, because they will reimburse us $500 for it as a customer bonus. Ha. I don't think so.
And so, my dear friends, please don't leave me; I kind of like our relationship, don't you? I still get nervous butterflies when I think about you, so you can't leave me just yet!
Besides, I haven't given you the recap yet...

Holy cow, in regards to the internet! Are you guys all the way out by Sooke? If you are, you should definitely think about hiking the Juan de Fuca trail this summer. It's easily as beautiful as the WCT but about half as busy.
Anyways, I just came on here to say too, your dog is so cute! Hope you are doing well.
