Minsumer

I love cleaning and organizing. It's that simple.
I love the look of a clean and tidy living space; the idea of organizational products send shivers down my spine.
However, it's only now that I realize that the joy of organization isn't in the organizing of the stuff I love, but in containing it; putting my 'stuff' out of sight; clean, empty spaces.

It took a long time to finally come to the conclusion that I am a minimalist at heart.

And so, after months of following wonderful bloggers like Miss Minimalist, Everyday Minimalist, and The Minimalist Woman, Ryan and I have taken the plunge: we have joined the quite revolution that is minsumerism. Slowly, we are working on paring down our personal belongings to the bare bones; keeping only those items that we use on a weekly basis or that bring joy to our lives (psh, like I'd give up my handknits or Ry his farmhouse antiques!).

It isn't always easy to let go of the "stuff", but slowly but surely, one item at a time, we are coming to find room to breathe.
I just realized I really don't even like that footstool.

I'm in awe of your open spaces. I wish for that in my heart, but my reality (frugal pack rat tenancies, messy kids and husband) make it hard. I'll have to live vicariously through you.
